How to Tag Google Reviews in Chekkit
Sometimes Chekkit can automatically match a Google review to the correct customer conversation or review invitation. However, because names and phone numbers don’t always match perfectly, the system may not always tag the review correctly.
To help with this, Chekkit provides a manual “Tag Google Review” option so your team can link the review to the correct contact.

Why Tagging Reviews Matters
Tagging a review connects it to the correct customer record and invitation. This helps keep your reporting and customer history accurate.
When a review is tagged:
- The review is linked to the correct contact
- You can see who left the review after receiving an invitation
- Your team gets better visibility into review performance
- It helps maintain clean and accurate customer records
Because Google reviews don’t always include a phone number or exact name match, manual tagging allows you to confirm the correct customer when the automatic match isn’t perfect.
How to Tag a Review From the Invitations Overview
Follow these steps to tag a Google review manually:
-
Open Review Invitations (Reviews>Invitations)
You can just navigate to the Reviews section in your Chekkit dashboard and locate the review invitations list.

You’ll see invitations that were sent to customers.
2. Click the Tag Button
If Chekkit detects a possible review match, you’ll see a tag icon beside the invitation.
Click the Tag Google Review button.
3. Review Suggested Matches
A window will open showing Google reviews that may match the invitation.
Chekkit will often suggest the most likely match at the top.
You can:
- Review the suggested match
- Search by author name or text
- Scroll through recent reviews
4. Select the Correct Review
Once you find the correct review:
- Click the review
- Click Tag review
This links the Google review to the invitation and customer record.
Tag a Review From the Reviews Leaderboard
You can also tag reviews directly from the Invites section.
1. Navigate to Leaderboard Overview
Go to: Reviews → Leaderboard
This section shows all review requests sent by your team.
You will see:
- Invites – Review invitations sent by the employee
- Clicks – How many customers clicked the review request link
- Reviews – Reviews generated from those invitations
- New / Open / Closed – Conversation activity managed by the employee
- Messages / SMS – Messages sent through Chekkit
2. Open the Details
Click the employee metrics to open the Review Requests Sent By window.
This allows you to view all review requests sent by a specific user.
3. Click the Tag Icon
If a review has not been automatically matched, a tag icon will appear beside the invite.
Click the icon to open the Tag Google Review window.
From here, you can search for and manually link the correct Google review.
Why It’s Useful
The Employee Leaderboard helps you quickly understand team performance. It can be used to track customer engagement, measure review generation efforts, and see which team members are actively managing conversations.
Because the leaderboard uses a selected date range, it can be used to review performance over a specific day, week, or month.
Helpful Tips
- Suggested matches are based on timing, sender/author name, and review text, but they may not always be exact.
- If the review you’re looking for doesn’t appear right away, try using the search bar.
- Tagging helps ensure your review reporting and leaderboards remain accurate.
