AI Response Generation: Overview & Setup

What is AI Response Generation?

AI Response Generation allows Chekkit to automatically suggest or generate replies to incoming customer messages using artificial intelligence.

It works by analyzing:

  • Your website content
  • Past conversations (optional)
  • Custom instructions you provide

This helps you respond faster, stay consistent, and reduce manual effort while still maintaining control over your messaging.


Where to Find It

You can access AI Response Generation in your dashboard by navigating to:

Settings → Response Generation



How It Works

Once enabled and configured, the AI can:

  • Review incoming customer messages
  • Pull relevant information from your website and instructions
  • Generate suggested responses for your team (or automatically respond, depending on setup)

How to Configure AI Response Generation

1. Add Your Website

Under Website Settings:

  • Enter your website URL
  • Click Add

The system will scan your site and use its content to inform AI responses.


Tip:

Make sure your website clearly outlines your services, pricing, FAQs, and contact details for the best results.


2. Add Custom Instructions

Under Additional Knowledge & Instructions, you can guide how the AI responds.

This is where you define:

  • Tone and style
  • Specific rules
  • Frequently used replies

Example instructions:

  • “If a customer asks for a demo, provide this link: [your link].”
  • “If asked for our phone number, reply with: [your number].”
  • “Always keep responses short and professional.”

Click Save once complete.



3. Enable Training (Optional)

Under Training Settings:

  • Toggle Include messages in AI training data

When enabled:

  • The AI will learn from previous conversations
  • Responses become more tailored over time


How To Use AI Responses


You can access AI Response Generation directly from the message composer by clicking the lightning bolt icon. This button will generate a suggested reply based on the customer’s message, your configured instructions, and your website content, allowing you to quickly review, edit, and send a response.




Best Practices

  • Be specific in your instructions – the clearer your rules, the better the responses
  • Keep your website updated – outdated info leads to inaccurate replies
  • Review AI responses initially – ensure quality before relying on automation
  • Use instructions for edge cases – pricing, policies, booking links, etc.

AI responses can be reviewed or edited before sending (depending on your workflow).
