As part of this, providers like Twilio are now required to verify exactly who is using each phone number, including existing accounts.
Why is this being implemented?
The goal of these changes is to:
- Protect message deliverability for legitimate businesses
- Reduce spam and fraudulent messaging activity
- Ensure all messaging numbers are tied to verified businesses
What does this mean for my account?
To stay compliant and avoid any disruption to your messaging services, we now need to collect or update some business information for accounts using Australian numbers.
What happens if I don’t provide this information?
If the required information is not submitted:
- Your messaging services may be restricted or interrupted
- Messages may fail to send or be filtered by carriers
What information do I need to provide?
1. Business Details
- Registered business name (exactly as listed)
- ABN or ACN
- Proof of business registration
2. Business Address (Australia)
- Physical address (no PO Boxes)
- Supporting document (e.g., utility bill, tax notice)
3. Website or Social Page
- A link to your website or business social media page
4. Authorized Person
- Full name
- Email address
- Photo ID (driver’s licence or passport)
5. Authorization (if applicable)
If the authorized person is not listed on the business registration:
- A signed letter from a business owner/director confirming authorization
How should I send this information securely?
You can:
- Reply directly to the email request
- Send a separate email to support
- Use a secure file-sharing method (such as Google Drive) if preferred
What happens after I submit everything?
Once your documents are received:
- We’ll review and submit them to our provider
- No further action is required from you
- Your number will remain compliant and fully operational
