Why do we need to send an opt-out message?
You may have noticed that some of your messages were sent with an added message saying “Reply STOP to Unsubscribe” and probably have a few questions in regards to this. With business-to-consumer texting, there are a few standards we have to maintain to preserve deliverability and ensure compliance within SMS texting. One of these requirements is Opt-Out language. The details are as follows:
- The first message sent to any customer will have the phrase “Reply STOP to unsubscribe” as a default.
- This also needs to be included once every 6 months in your customer messaging.
