Data Security
Chekkit takes the security of your account and customer data seriously. This article explains how we protect information in Chekkit, what you can control on your team, and where to find related policies.
How we protect your data
- Encrypted connections — The Chekkit dashboard and app use HTTPS so data in transit between your devices and Chekkit is encrypted.
- Industry-standard safeguards — We follow commercially reasonable security practices to protect personal data. Details are in our Privacy Policy.
- Trusted processors — We use reputable cloud and service providers under agreements that limit how they can use your data. Card payments are handled by Stripe — Chekkit does not store your customers' full card numbers.
Protecting your Chekkit account
- Role-based access — Give teammates only the access they need (Owner, Location Admin, Team Leader, Contributor, and other roles). See What's the difference between the user access levels?
- Two-factor authentication (2FA) — You can turn on SMS-based 2FA in Settings → Account so sign-in requires a code sent to your phone.
- Strong passwords — Use a unique password and don't share login credentials. You can change your password or reset it anytime.
- Support access — Chekkit staff only access your account when needed to help with support, and we keep logs of that access.
Privacy, messaging, and sensitive data

- Text / SMS compliance — Rules for messaging consent and prohibited content: chekkit.io/text-policy and Messaging Consent.
- Voice & call data — If you use Chekkit Voice, call metadata, recordings, and transcripts may be processed by third-party providers: Chekkit Voice and Call Data.
- HIPAA / PHI — If you need to handle protected health information in Chekkit, that requires a signed Business Associate Agreement (BAA) with us. Without a BAA, don't store PHI in Chekkit. AI features are not designed for PHI unless we agree otherwise in writing — see our Terms of Use.
